The Liberty Show
This was the second set of lip syncs made in 1991. These shows did not have as many skits as Batch 8. These shows are interesting in other ways, however. "Call It Poison" is the only known show to have a skit at the end of the song. The skit follows the show selector “malfunctioning” and rapidly switching between songs. Some of the songs that were included were “I Want to Sex You Up”, “I Touch Myself”, and “People Are Still Having Sex”. Obviously, these were never sent out as full shows, but it’s interesting that CEI was bold enough to include such explicit songs even as a joke. "Friends In Low Places" was one of the first songs to be "Vogued"; it started out as a lip sync and later became a cover. "Baby Baby" was the only one of these shows to survive into the 2000s and remain unlost, it would later receive a video to go alongside it, with new Rolfe programming (it was also used for the NRAE version of the show as well). Interestingly, there are 3 Showbiz cuts tacked onto the end of this batch. "The Liberty Show" was reused plentifully throughout the 90s, even being used on Gold Collection and TiVO. "Proud to Be an American" and “Dreamers - Long Version” remain lost.
