These shows are the first known “lip sync” shows that would end up being a staple of 90’s Rock-afire. Instead of having the cast sing or parody a song, they used the original artist’s song and programmed the characters to “lip sync” to the lyrics. These shows also feature an intro skit from either Billy Bob & Looney Bird, and or Rolfe & Earl. These skits poke fun at the fact the characters would be lip syncing to the song rather than singing it, or poking fun at the song or artist itself. In the Janet Jackson shows, Rolfe claims he is Janet Jackson’s manager, and songwriter. These shows seemingly were requested by Pistol Pete's Pizza, and are theorized that they were a temporary solution due to the lack of funding for covers at the time. Ironically these ended up being the new standard for shows for the next few years. "Escapade", "Gonna Make You Sweat", "Ice Ice Baby", and "Play That Funky Music" would be the only 4 shows to end up being reused after this batch's initial runtime. "Play that Funky Music" would also be the only known Batch 8 show to be programmed on the NRAE.
